Festivals in Ghana
All the towns and villages in Ghana celebrate a festival annually. They are all of historical and cultural significance. Important events in the lives of the people in these towns and villages form the basis for these festivals, which is marked by special rites and rituals. The festivals are climaxed with thrilling durbars of chiefs and people. Tribal leaders and Queen mothers parade in decorated palanquins, shaded by traditional umbrellas, and supported by drummers and warriors discharging ancient muskets. Packages can be made for tourist to spend time and witness these festivals, which last from 3 - 7 days.
